The International Conference of Funeral Service Examining Boards (The Conference) is looking for funeral service professionals to serve on its Standard Setting Committee, which will meet this fall. 

The Job/Task Analysis nationwide results are in and the 2023 NBE content outlines are final. The next step is calibrating the passing score as it relates to the knowledge, skills and abilities required for entry level funeral service professionals, which is the role of the Standard Setting Committee.  

It is important that this committee be comprised of dedicated licensees who represent diverse perspectives within funeral service; therefore, anyone who is interested in the process should apply for a seat on the committee. 
 
The ideal committee member has passed both the Arts and Sciences sections of the NBE, is currently licensed and practicing as a funeral director and embalmer, with licenses in good standing. No experience in exam development necessary as training is provided.
