Certified Celebrant Training

Raise the bar and offer more to your families!

Set your firm apart from the competition and offer more to the families you serve! Take advantage of InSight Institute's Certified Celebrant Training Program, hosted by NFDA.

As families' wishes continue to evolve, it is more important than ever to offer a variety of services that meet their needs and exceed their expectations. Fewer families are incorporating religious rites into memorial services – how do you fill that gap? Many funeral homes look to Celebrants and find it most economical to train their staff to accommodate this growing demand for customized services.

A Certified Celebrant works with the funeral director to provide a funeral service, memorial service or tribute that is personalized and individualized to reflect the personality and life-style of the deceased. Word will spread quickly about the meaningful and caring funerals being conducted at your firm!

In a creative and collaborative environment, you will develop such skills as:

  • Articulating the Value of the Funeral
  • Facilitating Family Meetings
  • Using Music and Readings Resources
  • Art of Ceremonial Writing
  • Presentation Skills
  • Master of Ceremonies
  • Developing the Celebrant Concept in the Community
  • And so much more!

You'll also receive tools for success, the ability to network with other Certified Celebrants and the opportunity to earn up to 17 CE hours.

More Information

Scholarships are available to those who are verifiably affiliated with at least one funeral home and are interested in becoming a Certified Celebrant.

Your Presenter

Glenda Stansbury, MA, CFSP, has worked as Marketing and Development Director for In-Sight Books for 17 years and has been Dean of the In-Sight Institute for 17 years, training over 3,500 Celebrants around North America with Doug Manning and is a practicing Funeral Celebrant. She is a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer, a Certified Funeral Service Professional and a professor in the UCO Mortuary Science Department.

Our attendees say it best!

"I would not hesitate to recommend this training. I believe celebrant certification would help all funeral directors be better arrangers. It provides insights for demonstrating compassion as we spend time with families, hear their stories and convey to them how important it is for them to have a funeral so that their loved one’s story can be told."
